Instructions

  1. Cut two pieces of glass into 6” x 12” rectangles. One in opaque white and one in clear. Clean Glass with desired glass cleaner. Allow to dry.
  2. Place white glass on a clean surface. All designs will be placed on this piece. Be sure to leave space for your wording. You may wish to write your words in marker before silkscreening to allow adequate space.
  3. Place some SG-401 Black Designer Liner on a palette or tile, sprinkle with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium. Using a palette knife mix to the consistency of sour cream. If the mix is to thin add more AC-310 Silkscreen Medium or if too thick add more SG-401 Black Designer Liner to thin.
  4. Place dog silkscreen in desired location on white opaque glass. Using your finger, apply the silkscreen mixture over the silkscreen design pressing it through the open areas of the screen. Lift off the screen when done. We screened the German Shepherd and Pug in black.
  5. Place some SG-406 Brown Designer Liner on your palette then sprinkle with Silkscreen Medium and mix as described in #2.
  6. Screen the dog in the top left corner as described in #3.
  7. Place some SG-406 Brown Designer Liner on your palette then add a touch of SG-401 Black Designer Liner and mix. Sprinkle with Silkscreen Medium and mix as usual.
  8. Screen the small dog onto the top right corner of the glass.
  9. Place some SG-406 Brown Designer Liner on your palette then add a touch of SG-403 Red Designer Liner and mix. Sprinkle with Silkscreen Medium and mix as usual.
  10. Screen the large dog onto the bottom left corner of the glass.
  11. Place some SG-406 Brown Designer Liner on your palette then add a touch of SG-407 Yellow Designer Liner and mix. Sprinkle with Silkscreen Medium and mix as usual.
  12. Screen the dachshund beside the pug. Second from left on the bottom of the piece.
  13. Place some SG-407 Yellow Designer Liner on your palette then add a touch of SG-406 Brown Designer Liner and mix. Sprinkle with Silkscreen Medium and mix as usual.
  14. Screen the last two dogs onto the glass. These are the second from right on top and bottom right corner.
  15. Use SG-401 Black Designer Liner directly from the bottle to write the words onto the glass.
  16. Allow to dry.
  17. Place clear glass over design and fire to a full fuse.

Please remember that firing schedules provided are meant as a starting point. Your project, your kiln and your desired results are all variables in creating your project. Remember to fuse and anneal for the thickest part of the glass.
