This pot uses the mishima technique: scraping excess underglaze off to reveal an incised pattern.

1. Cast the CD-1127 Round Pot with Stoneware casting slip.
2. Remove the ware from the mold. Allow to become leather-hard.
3. Clean the stoneware leather-hard greenware by carefully removing the seam lines using a Clean-Up Tool.
4. On leather-hard stoneware casting slip body, use an X-Acto Knife to draw some designs.
5. Fill up Mayco's AC-219 Designer Bottle with UG-50 Jet Black.
6. Squeeze the UG-50 Jet Black into the outer edge of the pattern, it will look sloppy at first. Do the same with UG-207 Flame Red for the inside lines of the pattern.
7. Allow the piece to dry to a state just PAST leather-hard. Then take a steel rib and scrape the excess Underglaze off, revealing the incised pattern. This technique is called Mishima.
8. Dip the entire piece into SD-202 Pistachio. Do 2 dipped coats. Allow to dry in between each coat.
9. With a damp sponge clean the glaze off the bottom of the piece (dry-foot).
10. Fire to shelf cone 6 (mid-range).
