Instructions

  1. Remove ornament hanger.
  2. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  3. Using a ceramic drill bit, drill two arm holes, two leg holes and a tail hole.
  4. Apply 3 coats of SC-34 Down to Earth on the reindeer's antlers.
  5. Apply 3 coats of SC-48 Camel Back to the entire reindeer save has hair and muzzle.
  6. Apply 2 coats of SC-54 Vanilla Dip to the hairy patch on the reindeer's head and on the muzzle of the reindeer.
  7. Apply 2 coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale on the nose.
  8. Using a liner brush, apply 1 coat of SC-74 Hot Tamale on the line that creates the reindeer's mouth.
  9. Draw the outline of a candy cane on the front of the reindeer's tummy.
  10. Apply 3 coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the candy cane. Once dry, use SA-003 White to outline the candy cane and its stripes.
  11. Use SA-003 White to add snow to the top of the antlers.
  12. Using SC-34 Down to Earth, add dots to create the eyes and thin lines to make eyelashes.
  13. Add a dot of SA-003 White to the center of each eye.
  14. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
  15. Once fired add the arms, legs and tail. Do this by threading a chenille wand through the end of the bell. Pull the bell to the center of the wand and fold the chenille wand in half and then twist the wand wrapping the two hands around one another. Clip the wands to the length you desire them. Then put the clipped end inside the drilled holes and bend into shape. Use glue if you find they are not staying in the holes.
  16. Replace ornament hanger.
