Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Center the piece on a banding wheel, and locate and mark the center, then another line about 3” from the center, then another line to create a border that’s about 3” wide.
  3. Drill a hole in the plate for the clock works.
  4. Divide the plate into 12 equal sections.
  5. Using a CB-106 # 6 Script Liner and a CB-604 # 4 Soft Fan, apply coats of the following colors: FN-039 Light Grey to the center band area and back, and to the alternating openings FN-005 Pink and FN-032 Canton Jade. Allow to dry.
  6. Make a stencil of the FN-005 Pink and FN-032 Canton Jade areas so when stamping, you will not stamp into other areas.
  7. Load the AC-213 Sponge on a Stick with SC-34 Down to Earth, and stamp the FN-005 Pink areas with the ST-343 Deco Circles and the FN-032 Canton Jade areas with the ST-339 Deco Swirls.
  8. Using a CB-106 # 6 Script Liner, apply to the stamped areas a wash of the following colors where desired: SC-24 Dandelion, SC-71 Purple-licious, SC-27 Sour Apple, SC-70 Pink-A-Dot or SC-31 The Blues.
  9. Using AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace on the shape for the time markers.
  10. Using a CB-110 # 10/0 Liner or CB-106 # 6 Script Liner, apply 2 to 3 coats of SC-34 Down to Earth to the time markers. Allow to dry.
  11. Stilt and fire to Shelf Cone 06.
  12. Install the battery operated clock works following the manufactures directions.
