Instructions

1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.

2. Roll glaze the inside of the vase. Roll glazing requires thinning glaze. Mix three parts glaze, in this case FN-004 Red, with one part water (standard formula for roll glazing). Mix together and pour inside the clean vase. Roll the glaze around in the vase until coated then slowly pour the excess glaze back into a tub. Do not mix up a large batch as the glaze will fall out of suspension after a few days. Mix what you need for the project.

3. Using the AC-230 Clay Carbon paper trace the pattern to the bisque. Only one side of the AC-230 Clay Carbon paper transfers so test it on the bisque before tracing the entire pattern. Lay the AC-230 (proper side down) on the bisque and place the pattern on top of the AC-230 Clay Carbon paper.Use a pen or pencil to colortrace over the pattern and periodically check that the image is transferring.

4. Use SA-002 Black to outline the stems and around the small leaves.

5. Using the CB-106 Script Liner puddle one coat of SC-29 Teal Next Time inside of the small leaves.

6. Using the same brush apply two coats of SC-36 Irish Luck to the large leaves and shade one side of the leaves with one coat of SC-29 Teal Next Time.

7. Using the CB-106 Script Liner apply two coats of SC-73 Candy Apple Red and SC-75 Orange-A-Peel. Alternate between the two colors to shade.

8. Using SG-401 Black outline the flowers and large leaves.

9. Using the CB-106 Script Liner and/or the CB-604 Soft Fan brush, puddle one heave coat of CG-979 Meadow to the background of the vase. Don't worry about going over the SA-002 Black Accents or the leaves. The base of this crystal glaze is transparent.

10. Optional step: Apply one coat of S-2101 Clear over the SG-401 Designer Liner Black for a glossy, dinnerware fired finish. Designer Liner glaze will be matte and textured with out a clear glaze. For decorative pieces the matte finish may add an element of interest. Do not get clear glaze on the crystals as it may change the color.

11. Fire to cone 05/06.
