Instructions
- Cast the CD-1147 Chubby Gourd mold with low fire slip.
- Clean and fire to shelf cone 04 bisque.
- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- Using a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace on the leaves in a random manor.
- Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, block in the larger light green leaves with 2 coats of SC-93 Honeydew List.
- Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner loaded in SC-91 Seabreeze, add an accent stroke to the leaves.
- Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, block in the soft blue leaves with 2 coats of SC-91 Seabreeze.
- Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, block in the center areas of the red leaves with 2 coats of SC-89 Cutie Pie Coral and the outer areas with 2 coats of SC-88 Tu Tu Tango.
- Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, block in the small leaves with 2 coats of SC-94 Curry Around.
- Using the SG-401 Designer Liner with the metal tip, outline all leaves and add stems to the small leaves.
- Side-load a CB-106 #6 Script Liner with SC-5 Tiger Tail and shade around the leaves and stems.
- Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 3 coats of EL-135 Rare Earth to the stem.
- Place some SG-401 Designer Liner onto a glazed tile and thin slightly with water. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner loaded in SG-401 Designer Liner, add center veins and any desired detail to the leaves. Allow to dry.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-203 Dry Champagne to the gourd, excluding the stem. Be careful when applying the Sheers. Do not apply the glaze in stripes but in a crisscross fashion, keeping the glaze smooth and even.
- Stilt and fire to shelf cone 05/06.
