Instructions

 

 

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-001 White to the top of the cake plate.
  3. Using a CB-106 # 6 Script Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-28 Blue Isle to the edge of the plate.
  4. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of SC-11 Blue Yonder to the back of the plate and the base.
  5. Using AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper and a pencil , trace on the pattern.
  6. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply a thin wash to SC-11 Blue Yonder to the background, keeping off the traced design area.
  7. Using a CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply 2 coats of SC-42 Butter Me Up to the top of the cake, the swag areas and base of the cake. Side load in SC-24 Dandelion and shade the SC-42 Butter Me Up areas.
  8. Using a CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply 2 coats of SC-11 Blue Yonder to the traced base and top of the cake dish, and 2 coats of SC-28 Blue Isle to the edge.
  9. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-75 Orange-A-Peel to the circles on the swag, a few candles and to one candle holder.
  10. Using a CB 110 #10/0 Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-13 Grapel to some of the candles, and one candle base, then SC-74 Hot tamale to the remaining candles and candle holders.
  11. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-42 Butter Me Up to the flames on the candles.
  12. Using a brush handle, and SC-75 Orange-A-Peel dots to the white areas on the cake, and SC-13 Grapel to the yellow areas on the cake.
  13. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner loaded in SC-15 Tuxedo, outline and detail the design.
  14. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner loaded in SC-16 Cotton Tail, and accents to both the cake stand and the painted pattern cake stand.
  15. If lettering is desired, download a font of your choice, trace on using AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper and using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply 1 heavy coat of SC-28 Blue Isle.
  16. Place the top onto the base, stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
