Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-001 White on the cone tree. Apply 3 coats of FN-212 Blue Diamond on the coutside of the crown dish. Allow to dry.
  3. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan and a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-6 Sunkissed on the stem of the kiddush cup, 3 coats of SC-75 Orange-A-Peel on the body of the cup, and 1 coat of SC-15 Tuxedo on the ring.
  4. Cut the napkin to fit the top of the cone tree, keeping the remainder of the napkin for the base and the base of the tree.
  5. Attach the plastic and metal tip of the AC-222 Medium Writer Tip to the SC-36 Irish Luck bottle. Use the bottle to paint in the stems and leaves on the napkin. Paint all the stems and the leaves no matter what the color of green.
  6. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner to apply the colors to the napkin. Use the glaze heavily. Apply SC-74 Hot Tamale on the red flowers, SC-6 Sunkissed on all the yellow and pink flowers, SC-33 Fruit of the Vine on all the purple flowers. Apply likewise for the centers.
  7. When all the flowers, leaves and centers are painted, and the glaze has had time to dry some (just so it is not soaking wet), lay the cone tree onto the napkin. Cover the tree with the napkin, then press into place. As some of the color has dried, use a damp sponge to press the back of the napkin to rewet the dried glaze. Remove the napkin when the glaze leaves the napkin and is on the tree. Wait until the back of the napkin looks dry. Apply a stroke of color over the flower petals using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner with the corresponding color.
  8. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner with SC-15 Tuxedo, loosely outline the flowers petals.
  9. Punch out three butterflies for the base. Use the negative space from the cut outs. Apply some water on the space for the butterfly, then apply and press the paper in place.
  10. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-16 Cotton Tail on the butterfly cut out.
  11. Remove the paper.
  12. Use the remainder of the napkin in the same manner to decorate the base around the butterflies, and the base of the cone tree.
  13. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-15 Tuxedo to the trim edge of the base and underneath the crown base brush on 2 coats of SC-15 Tuxedo.
  14. The pieces can be stacked together during the firing to fuse or they can be glued together afterwards.
  15. Fire to shelf cone 06.
