Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Thicken S-2101 Clear Glaze with AC-310 Silkscreen mediumusing a palette knife to the consistency of peanut butter. Add gel food coloring to intensify the color. With the shiny side down, rub the thickened, colored glaze over the screen floral screen from DSS-0138 Flowers 2 to the top of the heart box. This will create a pattern so you may easily re-screen over this area in step 4.
  3. Use the CB-404 Pointed Round and CB-110 Liner to apply two coats of the following colors to the lid: SC-89 Cutie Pie Coral to the largest flower, SC-45 My Blue Heaven to the blue flowers and shade with SC-11 Blue Yonder. Apply SC-55 Yella About It to the small yellow flowers and shade with SC-97 Cant-elope. Apply one coat of SC-26 Green Thumb to the stems and leaves.
  4. Thicken SC-15 Tuxedo with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium using a palette knife to the consistency of peanut butter. Use the same floral spray (from step 2) from DSS-0138 Flowers 2. Align the screen from step 2 with the previously screened area. With the shiny side down, rub the thickened Tuxedo over the screen. Remove screen and gently clean.
  5. Use the CB-604 Soft Fan apply three coats of CC-101 Clear Crackle to the lid and inside the bottom of the box. Use the same brush to apply three coats of CC-102 White Crackle to the outside of the bottom of the box.
  6. Stilt and fire to cone 06.
  7. After firing, let the box sit so the cracks can develop. Slightly thin SS-139 Flat Black acrylic. Use the Soft Fan to apply the thinned Flat Black over the box then wipe off.  The black will stay in the cracks.
