Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisuqe. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Begin by tracing the image of the "Wild Thing" onto the front of the tray.
  3. Make a wash using SC-42 Butter Me Up and apply it with a cotton ball to the back of the tray, as well as to the area above the Wild Thing's head. You make a wash by diluting the glaze with water. Or, you can dip your cotton ball in water, then dip it in the color and then swirl it on your palette.
  4. Make a color wash of SC-51 Poo Bear and apply it to the remainder of the tray.
  5. Using a CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply 3 coats of SC-42 Butter Me Up to the eyeballs.
  6. Using a CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply 2 coats of SC-1 Pink-A-Boo to the nose.
  7. Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, make little hairs across the top of the monster's head, as well as around his face, eyes and nose with SC-34 Down to Earth. Multiple coats are not needed.
  8. Using a CB-404 #4 Pointed Round apply 3 coats of SC-37 Ivory Tower to the horns and teeth.
  9. Once you've finished with SC-37 Ivory Tower, the hair should be dry and ready to etch. Using a toothpick, make several small lines to create the illusion of hair. Several "crumbs" will form. Ignore them until you are finished. Once, you have finished, make sure all your other colors are dry and then use a dry brush to sweep the crumbs off.
  10. Dilute SC-15 Tuxedo with water to shade the horns and teeth. Make triangular shapes inside the horms and single lines along one side of each tooth for shading using a CB-310 #10 Flat Shader.
  11. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, outline the teeth and nose with the diluted SC-15 Tuxedo.
  12. Using the tip of a CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, create the creases in the Wild Thing's face. Do this by making one sweeping stroke beginning at the nose and move outwards.
  13. Using CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply 2 coats of SC-15 Tuxedo to the pupils of the eyes.
  14. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
