Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-6041 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 coat of UG-51 White Underglaze to the body of the mug.
  3. On a Mat Board, cut strips of copy paper with the Olfa Wave Cutter in various widths at least as long as the mug. If using Chevron Tape, cut to lengths to fit the cup.
  4. Use the paper to stripe the mug, leaving space between. Brush area with some water to get the paper to adhere to the Underglaze.
  5. When dry, use the SG-401 Black Designer Liner and the SG-403 Red Designer Liner to make tight horizontal lines on the empty space between the paper stripes.
  6. Pull off the paper. Allow to dry.
  7. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats SC-74 Hot Tamale to the inside and the handle of the Latte Cup.
  8. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of SW-001 Stoneware Clear glaze to the outside of the Latte Cup (not the handle).
  9. With a damp sponge, wipe off any excess glaze off the bottom of the cup.
  10. Place on a high-fired kiln washed kiln shelf.
  11. Do Not Stilt and make sure the handle of the Latte Cup is not hanging over the kiln shelf.
  12. Fire to shelf cone 5/6.
