Instructions

 

 

  1. Cast the CD-1127 Round Pot with Stoneware casting slip.
  2. Remove the ware from the mold. Allow to dry.
  3. Clean the stoneware greeware by carfully removing the seamlines using a clean-up tool.
  4. Bisque fire the piece to shelf cone 04.
  5. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  6. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of SC-87 Ruby Slippers on the outside of the pot.
  7. Condition a CB-406 #6 pointed Round by dampening the brush in water and squeezing out any excess water. Load the brush with AC-525 Brush Cleaner then squeeze between a paper towel.
  8. Apply a good coat of AC-302 Wax Resist on the desired areas (in this case, the red "oval" areas). Allow to dry.
  9. Dip the entire piece into SD-104 Black Walnut. Do 2 dipped coats. Allow to dry in between each coat).
  10. With a damp sponge clean the glaze off the bottom of the piece, (dry-foot).
  11. Fire to shelf cone 6 (mid-range).
