Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Spray paint the entire plate with a flat black spray paint. It is important that a non-water based spray paint is used, otherwise the paint will lift off the plate. Allow to dry.
  3. Using a AB-834 ¾" Base Coat brush, apply 1 coat of SS-376 Limeburst over the front of the plate. Allow to dry.
  4. Apply a second coat of SS-376 Limeburst, then press in the flat side of the lace into the wet color. Brush back over the lace with the AB-834 ¾" Base Coat brush with the SS-176 Limeburst. Pat up any excess color with some paper towel.
  5. When dry to the touch, using a AB-902 #2 Stiff Fan brush, apply 2 coats of MM-106 Steel Metallic. Let the first coat dry somewhat. Spritz a liberal amount MM-305 Rapid Rust on then pull off the lace. The MM-106 Steel Metallic should dry to a nice rusty finish.
  6. Optional: Seal with 2 coats of AC-502 Matte Brush-on Sealer.
