1. With a rolling pin on canvas, roll out a piece of moist clay ¼" thick between wooden slats.
2. Cut 2 rectangles 1 ¾" w x 7 ½" l for the top and bottom of the frame and 2 rectangle pieces 1 ¾" w x 6 ¾" l for the sides of the frame.
3. Place pieces on a board with all the pieces fitting together in a square shape with an opening in the middle (for the picture).
4. Press the sun design from the CD-1072 Sprial Press Tools in clay and cut around them. There are about 27 sun shapes for the 5" x 7" frame shown.
5. Attach the shapes to the fame with slip/clay slurry, overlapping in different directions.
6. Roll clay balls and stamp with the star design from CD-1078 Press Tools and slip/clay slurry attach in-between the sun shapes.
7. Allow to throughly dry.
8. Bisque fire to shelf cone 04.

Painting Directions:

1. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of EL-120 Black Ice to the entire shape.
3. With a damp sponge wipe off some of the EL-120 Black Ice from the sun and ball shapes. Allow to dry.
4. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale, SC-75 Orange-A-Peel and SC-6 Sunkissed to the sun shapes, blending the colors. Avoid getting the color in the detail.
5. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-76 Cara-bein Blue to the ball shapes. Allow to dry.
6. Leave the back unglazed.
7. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
