Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Print Pattern on the darkest setting of a Lazer Printer.
  3. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply slightly thinned SW-301 Iron Wash over the design area (white area), the ink from the printer should resist the SW-301 Iron Wash, if it doesn’t add a little more water to your brush. Too much water will result in light transfer. Do not pre mix the water with the SW-301 Iron Wash. Allow to completely dry.
  4. Cut out both plain and detailed pear patterns
  5. Apply ½” masking tape to create a border on one edge of the plate. Refer to photo for placement.
  6. Using a RB-144 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-001 White to the top of the plate. Remove the tape when the glaze loses its shine. Allow to dry.
  7. Remove the ½’ masking tape and reposition it on top on the FN-001 White glaze to create the boarder on the bottom of the plate where the SC-41 Brown Cow will be pinted.
  8. Using a RB-144 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of SC-41 Brown Cow to the boarder of the plate. Allow to dry.
  9. Using the AC-213 Sponge on a Stick load the sponge with SW-301 Iron Wash. Tap the SW-301 Iron Wash onto the ST-109 Butterfly Garden Stamp then press the stamp gently onto the boarder. Allow to dry. Remove the tape.
  10. Using a RB-144 Soft Fan, apply 1 heavy coat of SC-42 Butter Me Up over the entire paper pear. Be careful not to over brush or the SW-301 Iron Wash will smear. Allow to dry.
  11. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 heavy coat of SC-26 Green Thumb over the SW-301 Iron Wash on the paper leaves. Be careful not to over brush or the SW-301 Iron Wash will smear Allow to dry.
  12. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-41 Brown Cow over the SW-301 Iron Wash on the paper stems. Be careful not to over brush or the SW-301 Iron Wash will smear. Allow to dry.
  13. Trace the pear pattern on the plate for placement .
  14. Using a RB-144 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 coat of FN-001 White to the pears, leaves/stems over the Stroke & Coat colors. Then place onto the plate (tweezers may help here). Allow to set for a moment, then press to remove any air bubbles.
  15. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, shade the side of the pears where they are falling down the darkest and the leaves with SC-71 Purple-licious and SC-41 Brown Cow. Add. A little shading to the top side of the pears.
  16. Remove the paper. Note: Do Not remove the paper too soon or the image will not transfer. It takes several hours to dry. You can even leave over night.
  17. Touch up any skips or light spots with the SW-301 Iron Wash.
  18. Using a RB-144 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2-3 coats of FN-008 Brown to the back of the plate. Allow to dry.
  19. Stilt and fire to shelf cone /0506.
