Instructions

  1. Place some MM-105 Gold Metallic on a palette or tile and sprinkle with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium. Using a palette knife, mix color and medium to the consistency of peanut butter. if the mix is too thin add more AC-310 Silkscreen Medium or if it is too thick add more Stroke & Coat. Too thin of a mixture will bleed under the screen and give you a blurred image.  Too thick of a mixture will make it hard for the product to penetrate through the holes in the screen and give blank areas in your screen.
  2. Position the screen shiny side up on the piece. Hold in place, starting from the center out, Rub the mixture on the screen with your finger. Lift a corner up to check if you are applying enough color. Remove the screen and wash with water.  Do not let the color dry in the screen. this will cause damage to the screen.

  3. Use the gear designs from DSS-125 Steampunk, with the shiny side up and rub the thickened Gold Metallic mixture over the screen.
  4. Spray lightly with MM-202 Green Patina while the color is still wet using a MM-600 Spritzer Cap attached to the Green Patina.  A heavy spray will fuzz the image. For a varied effect spray some of the screens and leave some gear screens without the Green Patina spray. Some of the gears will be greener than others.  The residual spray will tarnish the gold. After all the gears are screened, screen the clock last, so it will remain gold as a contrast to the patina gears.
  5. To stop the oxidation process apply one coat of MM-502 Matt Sealer with AB-834 Base Coat Brush.
