Instructions

1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
   
2. Using a Bisque Saw or Hack Saw, saw off approximately 1/2" from the tip of the tree. You should have a flat area to drill a hole to the star.
3. Using either a Power Drill or Dremel Tool with the 1/4" Masonry Bit, carefully dill a hole in the back of the trunk for the cord assembly. Using the smaller 3/32" bit, drill the hole at the tip of the tree for the star as well as holes along the break points of the tree sections for the lights. The line of holes should be uneven in appearance.
4. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of SC-77 Glo-Worm to the four top sections of the tree. Do not apply to the base/trunk.
5. Using Card Stock and the various Snowflake paper punches, punch out several snowflakes of various sizes. You will need more of the medium and small ones than the larger snowflakes.
6. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 heavy coat of SC-77 Glo-Worm to an area sized for the snowflake being applied at any given time. While the color is wet, affix the cardstock snowflake cutout into the wet color. Make sure the snowflake is secured to the wet color. This will act as a mask for the top color. When placing the snowflakes on the piece, start with the larger sized first. Fill in around the larger ones with the medium and smaller snowflakes. It is also a good idea to just slightly overlap one over another when placing the snowflakes as this will aid in their removal later. Try not to repeat the same snowflake next to a like one. Space the larger snowflakes far enough apart to create a better pattern to the snowflakes.
7. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 thin coat of SC-77 Glo Worm over the paper cut outs previously applied. Let dry.
8. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of SC-63 Popeye’s Favorite to the entire tree. Best to work one section of the tree at a time.
9. When the color has started to dry and is still damp, remove the paper snowflakes using BT-901 Clean Up Tool. Make sure the color hasn’t dried when removing the snowflakes as it may cause chipping or difficulty in their removal.
10. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 more coat of SC-63 Popeye's Favorite to the base stem/trunk. Let Dry.
11. Using the BT-901 Clean Up Tool, clean out the holes for the lights.
12. Using CB-110 #10/0 Mini Liner, add dots of SC-63 Popeye's Favorite for detail in the snowflakes. The handle end of the brush might be best for this step. Allow to dry.
13. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 thin coat of S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing to the entire tree. Let Dry.
14. Place some tooth picks or broken Bamboo Skewers into the holes for the tree lights.
15. On a pallet place some SG-302 Snowfall and sprinkle in some AC-310 Silk Screen Medium. Use the pallet knife to mix SG-302 to the consistency of Marshmallow Cream. Apply 1-2 coats of this mixture to the lower areas of each section around the tree light’s holes. Depending on how thick the glaze is can determine how much you can sculpt the snow. Let dry. Remove the tooth picks from the holes once the glaze has dried. Be sure the holes are clear of glaze before firing.
16. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
17. Glue in the Plastic Pin lights with glue.
18. Wire the tree with the “Peanut” light assembly.
