Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan create a wash with SC-39 Army Surplus and apply a single coat of the wash to the tree, except the base.
  3. Apply 3 coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the base of the tree.
  4. Using the AC-213 Sponge on a Stick load the sponge with SC-15 Tuxedo. Apply the SC-15 Tuxedo sponge onto the ST-108 Holiday Lights Stamp.
  5. Press the stamp along the surface of the tree starting at the bottom and working up. Repeat this as many times as needed to cover the entire tree. As the length of the tree surface shrinks, paint less of the stamp - this will make it easier to control.
  6. Sponge SC-39 Army Surplus over the entire tree. Do this once and try hard to keep the bulbs free of additional glaze.
  7. Apply 3 coats of one of the following colors: SC-40 Blueberry Hill, SC-75 Orange-A-Peel, SC-24 Dandelion and SC-73 Candy Apple Red - to each of the bulbs.
  8. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner and diluted SC-15 Tuxedo, add "comma" marks at the base and top of each bulb.
  9. Take a look at the stamp and you'll see what you are replacing. When you coated the bulbs, you covered these lines and now they need to be put back in. If you need to, use the liner brush to outline the lights as well. They may loose some definition as you coat the color inside of them.
  10. Personalize the base if you would like.
  11. Apply S-2102 Crystal Clear Brushing.
  12. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
