Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-001 White to the inside of the food canoe.
  3. Punch out about nine small stars with a star paper punch, wet the paper then stick in place on about the top 4 inches of the inside space. Press with a paper towel.
  4. With MC-002 ½” Low Tack Masking Tape, Tape off a 4 inch area.
  5. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of SC-12 Moody Blue to the area. Remove the paper stars and masking tape before the glaze dries to prevent chipping.
  6. Place some SC-74 Hot Tamale on a palette or tile sprinkle with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium. Using a palette knife mix to the consistency of thick peanut butter. If the mix is to thin add more AC-310 Silkscreen Medium or if to thick add more SC-74 Hot Tamale to thin.
  7. Place the chevron screen inside of the food canoe on the remainder of the space, rub the thickened SC-74 Hot Tamale over the screen, pull the screen up as you work.
  8. At the end of the space it’s easier to just pencil in the chevron and use a brush to finish.
  9. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, put on an addition coat of SC-74 Hot Tamale for a darker red color if desired.
  10. Sponge off color that extends past the edge of the canoe.
  11. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of coats of FN-001 White to the back of the canoe.  Allow to dry.
  12. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
