Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-003 Yellow to the outside of the vase.  Allow to dry
  3. Begin applying the Studio Stuff ⅛" Masking Tape diagonally just beyond the halfway point of the vase. Then apply in the other direction to create diamonds. You will need about 5-6 rows of masking tape going in either direction.
  4. Once the diamonds have been outlined with masking tape use the CB-106 #6 Script Liner to apply 3 coats of glaze; alternating between SC-8 Just Froggy and SC-33 Fruit of the Vine.
  5. Remove the masking tape when the color has lost it’s shine.
  6. With a Pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper,  transfer the pattern onto the top corner of the vase
  7. Using a combination of CB-106 #6 Script Liner and CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-33 Fruit of the Vine to the outside sections of the design and 3 coats of SC-8 Just Froggy to the center section.
  8. Using the back end of the brush handle put a black dot at all of the intersections of the diamonds.
  9. Paint the inside of the neck of the vase with SC-33 Fruit of the vine.
  10. Place some S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing into a small cup and add a little bit of water to slightly dilute it (about 3 parts glaze and 1 part water).  It should be the consistency of a coffee cream.  Pour this into the vase and roll around to completely coat the interior of the vase.  Drain out the excess glaze and keep the vase inverted until it has lost its shine. Wipe off any glaze from the outside using a damp sponge.
  11. Option: Dip in Clear Glaze of Choice.  Allow to dry.
  12. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
