Instructions
- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- Thin FN-003 Yellow with water (3:1 glaze to water ratio). Pour inside MB-1404 Can-It Gallon to coat interior. Pour out excess glaze and clean off any glaze from the exterior and/or rim.
- With the pattern, cut out the bird with the tree branch and outline on MB-1404 Can-It Gallon.
- Using CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply three coats of SC-6 Sunkissed to fill in the shape of the bird. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats.
- Using CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply three coats of SC-41 Brown Cow to fill in the shape of the branch. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats.
- After the SC-6 Sunkissed and SC-41 Brown Cow have dried, brush the back of the paper template with water. Align image and place on top of the glazed section to act as a mask.
- Using AC-211 Sponge on a Stick, Large, pounce SC-16 Cotton Tail for the clouds and SC-30 Blue Dawn for the sky. Apply 2 coats.
- Remove paper pattern.
- Using AC-211 Sponge on a Stick, Large, pounce SC-26 Green Thumb along the bottom edge of MB-1404 Can-It Gallon, one to two inches in height.
- Using AC-211 Sponge on a Stick, Large, alternate between SC-6 Sunkissed, SC-75 Orange-A-Peel and SC-95 Pinkie Swear and pounce on color above the SC-26 Green Thumb area.
- With a palette knife, thicken SC-15 Tuxedo with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium to the consistency of peanut butter.
- Note: Review the Silkscreen Instructions PDF for further information and how to clean your screen.
- Using various flowers from DSS-0112 Flowers, align the screen with the shiny side down on the bisque over the SC-6 Sunkissed, SC-75 Orange-A-Peel and SC-95 Pinkie Swear painted areas. Rub the thickened SC-15 Tuxedo mixture over the screen with your finger to screen the flower image. Repeat process for desired amount of flowers.
- Note: When screening multiple times, the screen can become blocked with glaze. Rinsing in water will help deter this from occurring. Refer to the Silkscreen Instructions for more information.
- With a palette knife, thicken SC-36 Irish Luck with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium to the consistency of peanut butter.
- Using the leaves from DSS-0112 Floral, alight the screen with the shiny side down on the bisque over the SC-26 Green Thumb painted area. Rub the thickened SC-36 Irish Luck mixture over the screen with your finger to screen the leaf image. Repeat process for desired amount of leaves.
- Using the bird from DSS-0109 Aviary - Large Birds, align the screen (with the shiny side down) over the FN-003 Yellow colored area. Using your finger, rub the thickened SC-15 Tuxedo mixture over the screen.
- Using CB-110 #10/0 Script Liner, apply two coats of SC-41 Brown Cow to the branch. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats.
- Using CB-110 #10/0 Script Liner, add details to the branch with SC-15 Tuxedo. Apply two coats allowing the glaze to dry completely between coats.
- Using CB-106 Script Liner, apply two coats of SC-6 Sunkissed to the top and bottom rims of MB-1404 Can-It Gallon. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats.
- Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply two coats of S-2101 Crystal Clear to the exterior of MB-1404 Can-It Gallon. Allow glaze to dry completely.
- Allow MB-1404 Can-It Gallon to dry completely.
- Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
- Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, lightly brush the top and bottom rims with SS-81 Shimmering Silver. Also apply SS-81 Shimmering Silver to both of the handle knobs on the sides. Brush again, with water to allow some of the SC-6 Sunkissed to show through.
