Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque vessels. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-004 Red on the top portion of the first vessel. Allow glaze to lose its shine between coats.
  3. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of CG-970 Masquerade on the bottom portion (below FN-004 Red) of the first vessel. Allow glaze to lose its shine between coats. On the 3rd coat, apply a lighter application of crystals near the bottom of the vessel. This is to allow room for the crystals to move without dripping and sticking to the kiln shelf.
  4. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-020 Medium Green on the top portion of the second vessel. Allow glaze to lose its shine between coats. 
  5. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of CH-756 Firecracker on the bottom portion (below FN-020 Medium Green) of the second vessel. Allow glaze to lose its shine between coats. On the 3rd coat, apply a lighter application of crystals near the bottom of the vessel. This is to allow room for the crystals to move without dripping and sticking to the kiln shelf.
  6. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-003 Orange on the top portion of the third vessel. Allow glaze to lose its shine between coats.
  7. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of CH-756 Firecracker on the bottom portion (below FN-003 Orange) of the third vessel. Allow glaze to lose its shine between coats.On the 3rd coat, apply a lighter application of crystals near the bottom of the vessel. This is to allow room for the crystals to move without dripping and sticking to the kiln shelf.
  8. Fire to shelf cone 06/05.
