Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. With scissors, cut around the boarder of the pattern, including the stems and leaves.
  3. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 coat of FN-001 White to the front panel of the vase. Allow to dry.
  4. Brush water to the back of the cut out pattern. Place the pattern onto the center front panel of the vase. Press with a paper towel. Allow to dry.
  5. On a palette, with a palette knife, thicken SC-15 Tuxedo with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium to the consistency of peanut butter.
  6. With the shiny side up, position the screen on the vase. Hold in place, starting from the center moving outward, rub the thickened SC-15 Tuxedo mixture over the screen with a squeegee. Lift a corner to check if you are apply enough color. After screening, remove the screen and rinse in water to clean, laying flat to dry.
  7. Remove the paper pattern.
  8. Refer to the pattern and pencil in the rest of the design.
  9. Refer to the pattern for color placement. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of the top number, taking care to brush in the direction of the petals, the second number is the color that is just stroked in the shape of the flower, 1 stroke.
  10. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-26 Green Thumb to all the leaves and stems.
  11. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, outline and detail heavily with SC-15 Tuxedo.
  12. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-24 Dandelion to the edge of the vase and around the rim on the top of the vase.
  13. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2-3 coats of FN-009 Black to the sides and neck of the vase. Allow to dry.
  14. Place some S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing into a small cup and add a little bit of water to slightly dilute it (3:1). It should be the consistency of a coffee cream. Pour this into the vase and roll around to completely coat the interior of the vase. Drain out the excess glaze and keep the vase inverted until it has lost its shine. Wipe off any glaze from the outside using a damp sponge. Allow to dry.
  15. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1-2 coats of S-2101 Crystal Clear to the outside of the vase or dip in Clear Dipping Glaze of choice. Allow to dry.
  16. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
