Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using AC-213 Lg. Sponge on a Stick, pounce SC-75 Orange A Peel onto 1/3 of ST-113 Circulate Stamp. For the next 1/3 of the stamp, pounce with SC-97 Cant-elope, and lastly with SC-73 Candy Apple Red in an uneven pattern. Press the stamp to the top of the can.
  3. Using CB-106 #6 Script Liner, brush 2-3 coats of SC-11 Blue Yonder to the top and bottom edges of the can.
  4. Thin SC-11 Blue Yonder like water. Load the CB-604 #4 Soft Fan and drag against the lip of the can, letting the glaze run down the sides. More water may be needed to flow the color. Repeat the process for SC-97 Cant-elope and SC-75 Orange A Peel on different sections of the can. Let dry.
  5. On a palette with a palette knife, thicken SC-15 Tuxedo with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium to the consistency of peanut butter.
  6. Position the large butterfly from DSS-0113 Bugs on the can, shiny side of the screen down. Rub the thickened mixture over the screen with your finger. Remove the screen and rinse to wash, laying flat to dry.
  7. Same as above, thicken SC-97 Cant-elope, SC-75 Orange A Peel, and SC-73 Candy Apple Red with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium. Screen the small butterflies with these colors around the can.
  8. Using the end of the CB-110 #10/0 Mini Liner, dot SC-15 Tuxedo sporadically around the bottom of can for flower centers.
  9. Load CB-106 #6 Script Liner with SC-97 Cant-elope then tip in SC-75 Orange A Peel. Press and lift to form the petals of the flowers around the black dot. Repeat process for all flower petals.
  10. Using the thickened SC-15 Tuxedo, screen the small butterflies again, hiding among the flowers.
  11. Using CB-110 #10/0 Mini Liner, outline the flowers with SC-15 Tuxedo.
  12. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, brush the inside with 1 coat of SC-75 Orange A Peel. Brush over with water while the glaze is wet to give it the effect of thin paint.
  13. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, brush 2 coats of S-2101 Clear to the exterior of the bisque.
  14. Stilt and fire to cone 05/06.
  15. Using wire cutters, cut the metal hanger and bend to form a handle. Cut the ends again to fit, if needed. Bend the ends in with pliers to fit into the holes on the side of the can.
  16. Brush SS-81 Shimmering Silver to the bottom and top edges of the can. While wet, brush over with water to disperse the silver, showing color beneath. Also brush silver on the handle.
