Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Place some FN-215 Aztec Jade into a small cup and add a little bit of water to slightly dilute it (about 3 parts glaze and 1 part water).  It should be the consistency of a coffee cream.  Pour this into the teapot and roll around to completely coat the interior of the teapot.  Drain out the excess glaze and keep the teapot inverted until it has lost its shine. Wipe off any glaze from the outside using a damp sponge. Allow to dry.
  3. With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace on the tree pattern to the center of the teapot.
  4. With SA-002 Black, outline the pattern and add dots on the spout, handle, top and bottom section of the teapot and the lid. Allow to dry.
  5. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner and a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply a puddle coat of CG-795 Yadro Print to the inside area of the tree. Then apply 1 coat of SC-14 Java Bean.
  6. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan and a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1-2 coats of UG-50 Jet Black to the sides of the teapot, spout handle and knob. Allow to dry.
  7. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-214 Pastel Jade to all areas that are dotted including the area around the tree.
  8. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-215 Aztec Jade to the UG-50 Jet Black areas.  Allow to dry.
  9. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
