Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Place some FN-009 Black into a small cup and add a little bit of water to slightly dilute it (about 3 parts glaze and 1 part water).  It should be the consistency of a coffee cream.  Pour this into all the pieces, lids and roll around to completely coat the interior of the pieces and lids.  Drain out the excess glaze and keep the all the pieces and lids inverted until it has lost its shine. Wipe off any glaze from the outside using a damp sponge. Allow to dry.
  3. Using a Watercolor Marker, mark off the handles, spouts and knob. Then sketch in the geometric squares and triangles to the sidewalls and lid tops.
  4. Using aCB-106 #6 Script Liner, block in with 3 coats the following colors to the various sketched shapes: SC-31 The Blues, SC-78 Lime Light, SC-6 Sunkissed and SC-23 Jack O’ Lantern.
  5. Using aCB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply designs to the areas painted as follows: SC-32 Bluebeard over SC-31 The Blues, SC-75 Orange-A-Peel over SC-23 Jack O’ Lantern, SC-26 Green Thumb over SC-78 Lime Light and SC-74 Hot Tamale over SC-6 Sunkissed.
  6. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, outline the shapes with SC-15 Tuxedo.
  7. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-009 Black to the knobs, spout and handles. Allow to dry.
  8. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
