1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
2. Place some S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing Glaze into a small cup and add a little bit of water to slightly dilute it (about 3 parts glaze and 1 part water).  It should be the consistency of a coffee cream.  Pour this into the canister and roll around to completely coat the interior of the canister.  Drain out the excess glaze and keep canister inverted until it has lost its shine. Wipe off any glaze from the outside using a damp sponge. Allow to dry.
3. The inside of the lid can be coated as the inside of the canister in step 2, or use a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan to apply 2 coats of undiluted brushing glaze.  Allow to dry.
4. Using pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, and trace the jellyfish design onto the canister.
5. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply 2 coats of EL-128 Wheat on the lower half of the jellyfish bell (the bulbous part of the jellyfish), taking care to avoid the accent lines that run through the bell.
6. With the same brush, apply 3 coats of EL-133 Autumn at the top of the bell, overlapping into the EL-128 Wheat area.
7. Apply 2 coats of EL-125 Sahara Sands through the middle area of the jellyfish, the area known as the oral arms.
8. using a CB-406 #6 Pointed Round, dot SG-501 Sculpting Medium onto the oral arms, covering about 4/5 of the area painted in step 7.  Build up the SG-501 Sculpting Medium to give the appearance of a curly texture.  Allow to dry.
9. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, go over approximately ¼ of the SG-501 Sculpting Medium at the top with 2 coats of EL-125 Sahara Sands.
10. Using the same brush and overlapping the EL-125 Sahara Sands just a bit, apply 2 coats of EL-126 Coral Reef over the remaining SG-501 Sculpting Medium comprising the oral arms.
11. Use a small bit of EL-121 Copper Adventurine to add 1 coat of color streaking up from the bottom of the oral arms of the jellyfish, over the Coral Reef.  Refer to the photo.
12. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply 1 coat of EL-134 Mirror Blue and 2 coats of EL-136 Lapis Lagoon to the area inside the bell.  Apply 2 coats of Mirror Blue and 1 coat of EL-136 Lapis Lagoon between the tentacles of the jellyfish.
13. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner apply 2 coats of EL-132 Rust Red, fill in the tentacles around the jellyfish and the shading of the bell.
14. Using a CB-406 #6 Pointed Round, apply 2 coats of EL-134 Mirror Blue and 1 coat of EL-136 Lapis Lagoon around the canister, backing off from the jellyfish after the first coat of EL-134 Mirror Blue.  Be sure to paint the lip of the canister, and the lid in the same fashion.
15. Do not clear glaze.  We stilted the canister on the back and laid it flat during firing, so any flowing of the Element glazes would not obscure the jellyfish.
16. Fire to shelf cone 05/06.
