Instructions

Dog Bowl:

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, brush 3 coats of SC-65 Peri-Twinkle to the sides of the box bottom and the middle section of the lid.
  3. On a palette, with a palette knife, mix S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing food coloring to tint. Then mix in AC-310 Silkscreen Medium to thicken to the consistency of peanut butter.
  4. Using the DSS-0119 Dogs, with the shiny side down, screen with the thickened mixture to the inside of the box, for color placement.
  5. Using CB-106 #6 Script Liner, brush the dog's tongue with 2 coats of SC-2 Melon-Choly; the chest with 2 coats of SC-91 Seabreeze, and the rest of the dog with SC-30 Blue Dawn, omitting the eye.
  6. Allow to dry.
  7. On a palette, with a palette knife, mix SC-15 Tuxedo with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium to the consistency of peanut butter.
  8. On the lid, align the chihuahua image from the dog screen, with the shiny side down. Using the thickened SC-15 Tuxedo mixture, screen the images to allow five heads to fit around the center with the ears almost touching.
  9. Using the thickened SC-15 Tuxedo mixture, re-screen the dog in the bowl. Take care to align the screen to the previous screened image. Also, screen the paw prints along the side of the dog.
  10. With SG-401 Designer Liner, outline the bottom of the bowl, write the bubble and word "woof" next to the dog.
  11. Clean the stamp with soap and a scotch brite pad, this will allow the glaze to stick to the surface. Pat the ST-115 Houndstooth Stamp with SC-15 Tuxedo using AC-213 Lg. Sponge on a Stick. Press the stamp to the sides of the button box. To stamp the lid, cut a circle out of paper to fit the middle section of the lid, using as a mask. Then stamp the section with the Houndstooth Stamp.
  12. Allow to dry.
  13. Brush or dip with clear, 2 coats brushing withCB-604 #4 Soft Fan and S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing.
  14. Silt the lid and the bottom of the box, fire to cone 05/06.
  15. Make a handle with hemp, threading through the button holes, and wrapping around the threaded hemp. Note: to create a finger space, place an object under the threads before beginning to thread the button holes.

Cat Bowl:

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. On a palette, with a palette knife, thicken SC-15 Tuxedo with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium to the consistency of peanut butter.
  3. Using DSS-0120 Cats, with the shiny side down, rub the thickened Tuxedo mixture over the cat to the outer rim of the lid. Also, screen the meow bubble and the cat prints around the rim of the lid. Screen the standing cat with the large Meow bubble inside of the box.
  4. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, brush 3 coats of SC-23 Jack O'Lantern to the middle section of the lid and the side of the box bottom.
  5. Let dry.
  6. Cut a 3 3/4" circle, use the negative space as a mask. Hold or tape the cut out shape over the center section of the lid, to mask remainder of the lid.
  7. Wash the ST-346 Animal Print stamp with soap and a scotch brite pad. Tap ST-346 Animal Print stamp with SC-15 Tuxedo using AC-213 Lg. Sponge on a Stick. Press the stamp to the center section of the lid over SC-23 Jack O'Lantern. Repeat to the sides of the box bottom.
  8. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, brush 2 coats of S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing to the lid and box.
  9. Stilt the lid and box separately and fire to 05/06.
  10. Make a handle with hemp, threading through the button holes, and wrapping around the threaded hemp. Note: to create a finger space, place an object under the threads before beginning to thread the button holes.
