Instructions
- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- Thin SC-77 Glo Worm and using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan wash color over the shell of the turtle. While the color is still wet, sporadically mix some thinned SC-26 Green Thumb into the color.
- Cut a sheet of copy paper into 1" squares. Use a rotary cutter and quilters ruler to make this easier.
- Wet the paper squares and place on point, point-to-point, on the turtles shell. Place the paper squares on both sides of the shell, adjusting the paper across the top of the shell.
- After all the paper is in place, apply 2 even coats of SC-71 Purple-licious over the turtle's shell.
- Remove the paper after the last coat of SC-71 Purple-licious has lost its shine.
- Scrape off any excess SC-71 Purple-licious that may have gotten on the lower section of the shell.
- Thin SC-26 Green thumb and apply over the lower section of the shell and the body of the turtle. Wipe back with a damp sponge to antique.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan brush on a thinned coat of SC-77 Glo Worm to the lower section of the shell and a thinned coat of SC-27 to the body of the turtle.
- Use a circle template to pencil in dots on the body of the turtle in various sizes.
- Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 1 coat of thinned SC-71 Purple-licious in the dots.
- Remove any color on the eye. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-16 Cotton Tail to the eyeball, thinned SC-26 Green Thumb to the iris, and SC-15 Tuxedo to the pupil. Outline the mouth and eye with SC-15 Tuxedo.
- Apply clear glaze of choice.
- Stilt and fire to cone 06.
