Instructions

Fall Gathering:

  1. To screen bird, place some SC-15 Tuxedo on a palette or tile and sprinkle with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium. Using a palette knife, mix color and medium to the consistency of peanut butter.  If the mix is too thin add more AC-310 Silkscreen Medium or if it is too thick add more Stroke & Coat. Too thin of a mixture will bleed under the screen and give you a blurred image.  Too thick of a mixture will make it hard for the product to penetrate through the holes in the screen and give blank areas in your screen.
  2. Position the bird screen shiny side down on the piece making sure the bird has room to be on a branch when you draw your tree.  Hold in place, starting from the center out, rub the mixture on the screen with your finger. Lift a corner up to check if you are applying enough color. Remove the screen and wash with water.  Do not let the color dry in the screen. This will cause damage to the screen.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbpJPef6MB0

  4. Draw tree on tile around your bird so that it looks like the bird is perched on a branch.
  5. Screen leaves on your tree branches in SC-15 Tuxedo using step 1 instructions.
  6. Fill in leaves using two coats of SC-75 Orange-A-Peel and SC-97 Cant-elope.
  7. Fill in tree with two coats of SC-41 Brown Cow.  To create shadows or darker brown, mix SC-15 Tuxedo with some SC-41.
  8. Re-screen the leaves over the dried Stroke & Coat matching up the design.
  9. Outline the tree and branches using one coat of SC-15 Tuxedo.
  10. Add a lady bug to the tree and fill in with two coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale going around the dots on the body.
  11. Apply two coats of S-2101 Clear to the entire tile making sure you do not disturb the design. Allow to dry.
  12. Stilt and fire to a shelf cone 06.

  3. Apply two coats of SC-27 Sour Apple to the bottom part of the tile in an irregular pattern using your #6 Script liner.
  4. Above the bird, apply two coats of SC-11 Blue Yonder making triangles to simulate butterfly wings.
  5. Screen over the green area below the bird with leaves making sure you do not overlap too much or you will not distinctively see the leaves.
  6. Take a sponge and wipe away any excess green that was not covered with leaves.
  7. Screen the butterflies over the triangles above the bird.
  8. Screen a lady bug in the leaf area and fill in, going around the dots, with two coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale.
  9. Apply two coats of S-2101 Clear over the entire tile making sure not to disturb the design.
