Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. On the palette with a palette knife, mix AC-230 Silkscreen Medium with SW-302 Rutile to thicken to the consistency of peanut butter.
    • Tip: Review the Silkscreen Instructions for further details and how to properly clean the screen for additional use.
  3. Using the flowers from DSS-0112 Flowers, rub the thickened SW-302 Rutile mixture over the screen, grain side up. Repeat process until desired amount of flower images have been screened on all 4 stoneware bisque pieces.
  4. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of SW-124 Matte Maycoshino over the screenprinted images on SB-100 16 oz. Mug, SB-104 Rimmed Salad Plate, SB-105 Rimmed Dinner Plate and SB-106 Rimmed Bowl. Brush on glaze in various directions as the brush strokes may show. Allow glaze to lose its shine between coats.
  5. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of SW-111 Wrought Iron to the backside of SB-104 Rimmed Salad Plate, SB-105 Rimmed Dinner Plate and the exterior of SB-106 Rimmed Bowl. Also apply 3 coats of SW-111 Wrought Iron to the interior, handle and exterior surface of the SB-100 16 oz. Mug above and below the silkscreened area. Do not apply glaze to the feet of the bisque pieces. Allow glaze to lose its shine between coats.
  6. Clean off any glaze from the feet of each piece.
  7. Sit each cleaned, bisque piece onto kiln shelf and fire to shelf cone 6.
