Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Remove the bank Stopper
  3. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 coat of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the birds body and 3 coats to the wings.  Wipe back some of the glaze from the detail in the wings after the final coat with a damp sponge.
  4. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply on a second coat of SC-74 Hot Tamale in sections over the body of the bird, while the glaze is wet set in the eyelash yarn, brush over again with the SC-74 Hot Tamale to make sure the yarns lay flat.
  5. Let it dry some, then press on paper towel to soak up some of the excess wet glaze. Allow to dry to the touch.
  6. Using aCB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 coat of SC-32 Bluebeard on to the area with the yarn, pull off the yarn as soon as the shine leaves the glaze. This will prevent chipping and leave the best pattern from the yarn.
  7. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2-3 coats of SC-42 Butter Me Up to he lager eye area and the feathers on the wings.
  8. Using a CB-602 #2 Soft Fan, apply 2-3 coats of SC-28 Blue Isle to the hair.
  9. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-15 Tuxedo to the beak, brush over with SC-28 Blue Isle to highlight.
  10. Thin SC-28 Bluebeard as a wash then brush over the hair to antique.
  11. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply 2 thinned coat of SC-28 Blue Isle for the iris, and SC-15 Tuxedo for the pupil.
  12. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, outline the feathers in wing and line the eyes with SC-15 Tuxedo.
  13. Apply Clear Glaze of Choice.
  14. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
  15. Replace the bank stopper.
