1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-005 Pink to the center of the plate and to the butterfly wings.
3. With a sea sponge, sponge on SC-70 Pink-A-Dot on the pink part of the plate.
4. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of CG-783 Strawberry Sundae to the rim and the back of the plate, and the butterfly body.
5. Pencil in the position of the flowers on the plate. Draw a small circle for the center and draw lines from the center out like the spokes of a wheel.
6. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner loaded with SC-16 Cotton Tail, start from the center of the flower and press lightly the tip of the brush for a point then flatten the brush while pulling the stroke. Around the center of the petal pull up the brush and begin the process at the end of the petal, pulling the stroke towards the center.
7. Each petal requires 2 coats for solid coverage. After the second brush stroke, load the liner again with SC-16 Cotton Tail and tip the brush with SC-3 Wine About It. Start at the center, press lightly for a point then pull the stroke towards the center.
8. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-3 Wine About It to the center and 1 coat of CG-783NT Strawberry Sunday .
9. Thin CG-783NT Strawberry Sundae and float it over the pink glaze near the rim; avoiding getting it on the petals.
10. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, thin FN-005 Pink and brush over the rim and back. Place Butterfly on plate rim - allow to dry.
11. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 05/06.
