Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace the pattern onto the bisque.
  3. Outline the pattern using SG-406 Brown Designer Liner allow this to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
  4. Using a CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, SC-48 Camel Back on the bottom of the cornucopia. Use SC-6 Sunkissed on the top highlighted sections of the cornucopia.
  5. Using a CB-200 #0 Detail, apply SC-23 Jack O’ Lantern to the bow and ribbon.
  6. The leaves around all the fruits and vegetables are a mixture of SC-41 Brown Cow, SC-27 Sour Apple, SC-43 Lettuce Alone, SC-74 Hot Tamale, and SC-50 Orange Ya Happy. Using a CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply two or three of any of the mentioned colors. Blend them as they meet on each leaf.
  7. The husk of the corn is SC-48 Camel Back and the corn is SC-6 Sunkissed.
  8. Using a CB-200 #0 Detail, the grapes are glazed SC-53 Purple Haze.
  9. The apples are SC 74- Hot Tamale at the bottom with SC-6 Sunkissed added as a highlight on the tops.
  10. The pears are SC-43 Lettuce Alone with SC-6 Sunkissed as the highlight color.
  11. The Pumpkin is SC-23 Jack O’ Lantern. The stem is SC-48 Camel Back on the bottom and SC-6 Sunkissed as the top and also used to highlight the top of the pumpkin.
  12. The nuts within the leaves are glazed with SC-41 Brown Cow.
  13. Place some of the following colors on a palette: SC-41 Brown Cow, SC-50 Orange Ya Happy and SC-26 Green Thumb. Mix one color at a time with some AC-310 Silkscreen Medium to the consistency of peanut butter, using a pallet knife. You may have to add more of the Screen Printing Medium a little at a time to get the right consistency.
  14. Choose which leaf you would like to use and with your finger add the glaze to the silk screen. Mix the patterns up and the glaze until you get the layered look you like. Allow to completely dry.
  15. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing Glaze to the entire front of the piece. Allow to dry.
  16. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 Harvest Orange to the back of the piece. Allow to dry.
  17. Silt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
