Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-014 Antique White to the front and sides of the canvas.  Allow to dry.
  3. Using the AC-213 Sponge on a Stick load the sponge with SC-46 Rawhide. Tap the SC-46 Rawhide onto the ST-368 Ornate Boarder Stamp then press the stamp gently onto the entire front and sides of the Canvas.  Allow to dry.  This video shows how to use the stamps.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f4iGfwwndo
  4. Select a font you like to print out First Comes, Then Comes and the dates. Print out on your computer.
  5. With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace this onto the dry canvas. Glaze this with SC-15 Tuxedo later so it is not smeared applying the center design.
  6. First Comes (Love) - take a piece of 8x10 copy paper, fold in half and cut out the size of the heart you want for the front of the project.  This will be a stencil.  Position the open heart on the canvas.
  7. Now apply SC-74 Hot Tamale on the same ST-368 Ornate Boarder Stamp and press in a random pattern over the opening of the cut out heart. Make sure and overlap the paper so the design goes to the edge and there is a good heart print.
  8. Note:  You can change this from a heart to an engagement ring and place the engagement date on the bottom of the canvas.
  9. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-15 Tuxedo to paint the words.
  10. Then Comes (Marriage) – With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace on the cake.
  11. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-46 Rawhide to the body of the cake.
  12. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SG-501 Sculpting Medium to the frosting area of the cake and wispy areas under the cake like lace.
  13. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the flowers (adjust to other colors to match the brides color scheme).
  14. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, create the leaves on the flowers and the wispy vines on the top layer.
  15. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-15 Tuxedo to outline and detail the cake and to paint the words.
  16. Then Come (Baby) -
  17. With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace on the baby carriage.
  18. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-1 Pink-A-Boo to the body of the carriage.
  19. Using a CB-110 # 10/0 Liner, apply the heart to the body of the carriage.
  20. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner and SC-15 Tuxedo outline the carriage, add the baby name and the words and date to the canvas.
  21. Do not apply clear glaze, it will fire glossy due to the Foundation glaze.
  22. Lay this flat on a clean kiln shelf to fire.  If stilted but a bar stilt on all four corners or evenly support the center with a large stilt or three smaller stilts to keep the canvas from warping.
  23. Fire to shelf cone 06/05.
