Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, transfer the pattern onto MB-1353 8"x10" Clay Canvas.
  3. With scissors, cut out the pattern. Align paper cutout with the transferred image and place on the bisque.
  4. Using 604 #4 Soft Fan, brush over and slightly dampen the paper cutout to adhere it to the bisque.
  5. Using CB-425 1/2" Oval, load the brush with SC-78 Lime Light and make short brushstrokes in a vertical manor over the face of MB-1353 8"x10" Clay Canvas overtop the paper cutout.
  6. While SC-78 Lime Light is still damp, load the CB-425 1/2" Oval with SC-76 Cara-Bein Blue and make short brushstrokes in a vertical manor, mixing with SC-78 Lime Light.
  7. While SC-76 Cara-Bein Blue is still damp, load the CB-245 1/2" Oval with SC-74 Hot Tamale and make short brushstrokes in a vertical manor, mixing with SC-76 Cara-Bein Blue.
  8. Once SC-78 Lime Light, SC-76 Cara-Bein Blue, and SC-74 Hot Tamale has lost its sheen, remove the paper cutout.
  9. Using SG-401 Black, outline the transferred image.
  10. Using CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply two coats of SC-15 Tuxedo and fill in the penguin backs, wings and heads. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats.
  11. Using CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply two coats of SC-16 Cotton Tail to the front of the penguins.
  12. While the SC-16 Cotton Tail is a little damp, using CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply SC-97 along the edge up against SC-15 Tuxedo, blending the colors together.
  13. Using CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply two coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale to fill in the heart. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats.
  14. Using SG-401 Black, draw a small line at the top of the heart.
  15. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply three coats of SC-15 Tuxedo to the edges of MB-1353 8"x10" Clay Canvas. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats.
