Instructions
- With a rolling pin on canvas, roll out a piece of moist clay ¼" thick between wooden slats.
- Form the clay over the hump side of CD-1076 Oval Tray using a sand bag. Leave part of the flange on for a headdress.
- Draw on the facial features. Add clay to form the brows, nose and mouth.
- Detail the headdress with the triangle spiral from CD-1078 Design Press Tools. Detail the zigzag headband with the same spiral. Press in the circle spiral around the eyes and nose and in the beard area. Cut out the eyes and the mouth.
- Allow to dry completely.
- Bisque fire to shelf cone 04.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of EL-111 Ruby Creek to the front of the mask. Before the third coat dries, wipe back the areas of color with a damp sponge. Do not wipe back to the clean bisque, as it helps to leave it with some Ruby Creek under the bright colors.
- Applt on 2 coats of Stroke and Coat colors as shown in the photo, or just use whatever colors you wish.
- Stilt and fire to shelf cone 05/06.
