Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of SC-86 Old Lace to the bellies of both owl bowl and owl plate.
  3. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 diluted coat of SC-52 Toad-ily Green to the iris’ keeping your brushstrokes in mind. Then, apply 2 coats of SC-16 Cotton Tail to the whites of the eyes and 2 coats of SC-15 Tuxedo to the pupil.
  4. Use a combination of a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan and a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-41 Brown Cow to the body of the owl dish and SC-42 Butter Me Up to the body of the owl bowl.
  5. Cut out a piece of paper to block out the belly and tape it on.
  6. Using the AC-213 Sponge on a Stick load the sponge with SC-14 Java Bean. Tap the SC-14 Java Bean onto the ST-340 Flower Branch Stamp then press the stamp gently onto the body of the owl bowl.  Allow to dry.
  7. Using the AC-213 Sponge on a Stick load the sponge with SC-5 Tiger Tail. Tap the SC-5 Tiger Tail onto the ST-340 Flower Branch Stamp then press the stamp gently onto the body of the owl plate.  Allow to dry.
  8. Use a combination of a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan and a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-42 Butter Me Up to the face of the owl dish and SC-41 Brown Cow to the face of the owl bowl. Avoid painting the beaks.
  9. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of SC-94 Curry around to the inside of the bowl and the back of the dish.
  10. Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-94 Curry around to the beaks. Also, add the feathers to the chest with a single brushstroke for each feather.
  11. Using CB-110 #10/0 Liner, outline the eyes with SC-15 Tuxedo and add a highlight to the eyes with SC-16 Cotton Tail if desired.  Allow to dry.
  12. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
