Instructions

1. Place some SG-402 White Designer Liner on a palette or tile, sprinkle with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium. Using a palette knife mix to the consistency of sour cream. If the mix is to thin add more AC-310 Silkscreen Medium or if too thick add more SG-401 Black Designer Liner to thin.
2. Clean Brown Glass using glass cleaner of choice.
3. Place Starfish silkscreen in desired location on brown opaque glass. Using your finger, apply the silkscreen mixture over the silkscreen design pressing it through the open areas of the screen. Lift off the screen when done. Do this all over the brown glass and include some to go over the edges. Allow to dry.
4. Cut 8 pieces of Jade Glass 12” by ½” in size
5. Cut 4 pieces of Jade Glass 12” x ¼” in size
6. Cut 8 Pieces of white glass 12 x ¼” in size
7. Cut four pieces of brown glass 2” x 2” in size.
8. Choose a shell silkscreen and silkscreen one on the cleaned 2” square pieces of brown glass. These will be for the corners.
9. Assembling the platter. Cut a piece of firing paper 17” by 17” and place on a shelf.
10. Clean all the glass that does not have silkscreened images on them.
11. Place brown glass in center of paper that has the starfish on it. then place a piece of ½” jade glass around the four edges. Repeat with the white strips and then the ¼” jade piece. Then add another piece of white strips then end with a jade piece that is ½”. Place the four pieces of the shell screen glass in the corners.
12. Place the clear over the top of the assembled glass and do a full fuse with a long bubble squeeze. This is a sample of what was used for this piece. Please remember that this is just a sample firing schedule and all kilns fire differently. You may need to adjust the times and temperatures to fit your kiln.
13. When your glass is cooled, clean and place on top of prepared bisque with Glass Separator on it.
14. Do a basic Slump firing. This is the one I used. Again, this is a sample firing program and you may need to adjust this firing program to fit your kilns needs.
