Instructions

glass coaster dicro starStar fish Tile

  1. Cut Black Opaque and Iridized Clear Glass into 4 " square pieces. Clean with glass cleaner of choice. Allow to dry.
  2. Put on rubber gloves and place DSS-102 Sea Life Silkscreen image of choice shiny side down on iridized clear glass making sure the silkscreen is on the iridized side of the glass.  You can tell which side is iridized by placing the point of a pencil in the glass and if the mirror image of your pencil tip touches the original pencil tip then that is the correct side.  If the pencil tip does not touch then this is the side of the glass that does not have the iridized finish to it.
  3. Apply Glass Etching cream over the silkscreen using a CB-404 #4 round brush pressing the Glass Etching cream through the holes of the silkscreen.  We do not use AC-310 Silkscreen Medium to the Glass Etching Cream because it deters the cream from reacting properly. Remove the screen and leave the cream on the glass for at least  15 minutes.
  4. Rinse of the Glass Etching Cream from the class with soap and water. Allow to dry.
  5. Place the Iridized side down onto the Black glass and do a full fuse.

  1. Cut Opaque White and Clear glass into 4" size pieces. Clean glass with glass cleaner of choice.  Allow to dry
  2. Using a palette knife, mix SG-401 Black Designer Liner with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium to the consistency of sour cream. If the mix is too thin add more AC-310 Silkscreen Medium or if too thick add more Designer Liner.  Too thin of a mixture will bleed under the screen and give you a blurred image.  Too thick a mixture will make it hard for the product to penetrate through the holes in the screen and give you blank areas in your screen.
  3. Place Angel Fish screen shiny side down on white opaque glass and apply the mixture from step 2 to the screen starting from the center of the screen out while holding down the screen with your other hand.  Once the screen is filled with the mixture, remove the screen and allow to dry.
  4. Place clear glass over the dried angel fish and place dark blue and light blue frit over the clear glass making sure not to cover the screened image. Fire to a full fuse

  1. Place some SG-401 Black Designer Liner the size of a nickel on a pallet. Load your AC-211 3/8" Sponge on a stick applicator into the color making sure not to overload with color.  If your applicator has too much color on it, when applying to the stamp the over loaded applicator will fill in the nooks and crannies of the stamp and not give you a crisp image. Gently tap the loaded applicator onto the tops of your stamp and turn it over onto the white opaque glass.
  2. Press the stamp to the glass making sure it has made contact making sure not to rub back and forth. This will cause a double image. We are just trying to make sure that contact is made. Pull up the stamp to see image.
  3. Repeat step 1 and 2 to fill the piece of glass with fish. Allow to dry
  4. Fill in the fish with various colors of Designer Liner making sure to not make thick areas of color on the fish. It does not take much color to fill in the areas.  When Designer Liner is applied to heavy you may get undesired bubbling between your glass.
  5. Allow to dry and place the clear piece of glass over the white glass.  Fire to a full fuse.

  1. Cut out White Opaque and Clear glass into the shape of a skull using a ring saw. Clean glass with glass cleaner of choice. Allow to dry.
  2. Gently tap the loaded applicator onto the top of your medium circle of the  ST-343 Deco Circles stamp and turn it over onto the white opaque glass in the general eye area.
  3. Press the stamp to the glass making sure it has made contact making sure not to rub back and forth. This will cause a double image. We are just trying to make sure that contact is made. Pull up the stamp to see image.
  4. Repeat step 2 and 3 for the other eye.
  5. Add a nose making an upside-down heart using SG-401 Black Designer Liner and a CB-404 # 4 round brush.
  6. Add the mouth and teeth using SG-403 Red making sure to not over apply the color. Too much color will result in undesirable bubbles in the firing.
  7. Using other Designer Liner Colors, embellish your Sugar Skull using hearts, Flowers or any design of choice to fill in the forehead, Cheeks, and chin.
  8. Allow to dry.  Place Clear glass over the white glass and fire to a full fuse.
