Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-003 Orange to the entire cat omitting the eyes.
  3. Brush on a 3rd coat of FN-003 Orange and while the paint is wet, lay the yarn into the wet paint. Start at the bank slot and wrap around the cat, always placing in the wet paint. Continue to wrap the cat to the bottom. Lay the end of the yarn on the bottom of the cat. Spread the yarn pieces so they are not clumped together.
  4. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, brush back over the yarn with a thinned coat of FN-003 Orange. This will prevent any of the second color from leaking through.
  5. After the glaze begins to dry, to speed up the drying process, soak up some of the excess paint around the yarn with a paper towel.
  6. When the glaze is still damp use a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan and brush on 2 coats of SC-15 Tuxedo to the entire cat. When the second coat begins to dry, remove the yarn pieces.
  7. Clean off any glaze that may have gotten on the eyes and mouth.
  8. Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-16 Cotton Tail to the eyes, 2 thinned coats of SC-26 Green Thumb for the iris and one coat of SC-15 Tuxedo for the pupil.
  9. Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the mouth and veins in the eyes.
  10. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
  11. Stuff hat with paper towel, hot glue to cat's head, and wrap with wire.
