Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Place some FN-001 White into a small cup and add a little bit of water to slightly dilute it (about 2/3 parts glaze and 1/3 part water).  It should be the consistency of a coffee cream.  Pour this into the vase and roll around to completely coat the interior of the vase.  Drain out the excess glaze and keep vase inverted until it has lost its shine. Wipe off any glaze from the outside using a damp sponge. Allow to dry.
  3. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-001 White to the outside of the vase.  Allow to dry.
  4. With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace on the pattern or sketch your own.
  5. Using a Silk Decorating Sponge, sponge on the cheeks of all snowmen with SC-2 Melon-Choly. Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-2 Melon-Choly to the mouth/lips of snowmen.
  6. Using a CB- 202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-75 Orange-A-Peel to the noses.
  7. Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, shade the noses with SC-14 Java Bean, Detail and out line using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner.
  8. Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-11 Blue Yonder to the iris of the eyes.  Shade with SC-76 Cara-bein Blue.
  9. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, outline and detail the eyes with SC-15 Tuxedo.  Also apply to the mouths and mouth lines.
  10. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply SC-14 Java Bean to the stem of the pine boughs. Then follow by painting in the pine needles starting with SC-36 Irish Luck, SC-26 Green Thumb, SC-27 Sour Apple.
  11. Using the end of a bush handle add dots of SC-74 Hot Tamale for the berries.
  12. Using a CB-404 #4 Pointed Round, apply 2-3 coats of SC-24 Dandelion to the ornament caps.  Allow to dry.
  13. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
