Instructions

Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.

Star Plate

  1. Load the CB-604 Soft Fan with SC-24 Dandelion and dip one edge of the brush in water to add a fading effect. With the watered-down edge of the brush towards the inside of the plate, brush SC-24 Dandelion around the rim of MB-101 Coupe Salad. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats. Apply three coats.
    • Tip: A banding wheel would be very helpful during this step. Place MB-101 Coupe Salad on center atop the banding wheel. Spin the banding wheel to assure the plate is on center, then apply the glaze. If the plate is not on center, rotate the banding wheel and adjust accordingly. When the banding wheel is rotating, steadily hold a pencil beside the plate. Rotate the banding wheel and if the plate touches the pencil, stop the rotating and adjust the plate. Repeat until plate is on center.
  2. Place some SC-15 Tuxedo on a palette and sprinkle with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium. Using a palette knife mix color and medium to the consistency of thick peanut butter. If the mix is to thin add more AC-310 Silkscreen Medium or if too thick add more SC-15 Tuxedo. Too thin of a mixture will bleed under the screen and give you a blurred image. Too thick a mixture will make it hard for the product to penetrate through the holes in the screen and give you blank areas in your screen.
  3. Using DSS-0107 Season's Greetings, align the Star image on MC-101 Coupe Salad.
  4. With the grain side of the screen up, rub some of the thickened SC-15 Tuxedo mixture, with your finger, over the screen. After image is screened, gently wash the glaze off the screen and lay flat to dry.
    • Note: If more images are desired with the Star, simply follow the step above and screen additional image(s).
  5. Using CB-604 Soft Fan, apply two to three coats of SC-24 Dandelion to on the back of MB-101 Coupe Salad. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats. Allow to dry.
  6. Using CB-604 Soft Fan, apply two coats of S-2101 Crystal Clear to the entire plate. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats.
