Instructions

1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
2. Place some SC-58 501 Blues into a small cup and add a bit of water to slightly dilute (about 3 parts glaze to 1 part water). It should be the consistency of coffee cream. Pour this into the vase and roll around to completely coat the interior. Drain out excess glaze and keep the vase inverted until it has lost its shine. Wipe any excess glaze off the outside using a damp sponge.
3. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 coat of SC-58 501 Blues to the head, fin, and tail of the fish. Allow to dry and use a damp sponge to wipe away some of the glaze leaving some in the details of the fish.
4. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-014 Antique White to the body of the fish and allow to dry.
5. Using MMC-002 1/2" Masking Tape, tape off an inch wide band off center on the body of the fish.
6. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, carefully apply 1 coat of SC-58 501 Blues inside the tape lines. Be aware of your brushstrokes because they will show. Once dry, remove the tape.
7. Using AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, transfer pattern to the front of the vase.
8. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Mini Liner, apply 3 coats of SC-25 Cracker Jack to the fishing pole, 1 coat of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the bobber, and 1 coat of SC-15 Tuxedo to the words and outlining.
9. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of EL-103 Sea Spray to the head, tail, and fin.
10. Let dry completely.
11. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 05/06.
