1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
2. Using a Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of SC-15 Tuxedo to the front of the frame and apply 3 coats of FN-009 Black to the back of the frame. Allow to dry.
3. With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, transfer the pattern to the frame.
4. With a Pencil, sketch on the words – Forget Me Not.
5. Using SA-002 Black Accent, apply one coat to the words Forget Me Not using the color with the metal tip on the bottle. Make sure to keep the metal tip off the surface of the plate and allow the Accent to drop down like icing a cake
6. Squeeze out some of the SA-002 Black Accent onto a tile. Paint 2 coats to the stems of the flowers using the Liner.
7. Condition a Liner by dampening the brush in water and squeeze out any excess water. Load the brush with AC-525 Brush Cleaner then squeeze between a paper towel. Do not rinse the brush. Apply a heavy fine line of AC-302 Wax Resist to the lines of the pattern. Apply 1 fine coat over the lettering in the pattern. Paint over the stems and just past the edge of the SA-002 Black color. Allow to dry.
8. Using a Pointed Round, loaded with SG-202 White Cobblestone, paint in the petals and centers of the flowers. Apply 2-3 coats to these areas. When applying the Cobblestone glaze do not allow it to completely dry before the next coat. When the color has lost its sheen, but is still damp, apply the next coat. The thickness of the glaze will determine the size of the breakup in the fired color. A heavier application will produce a larger breakup of the glaze after firing. Do not let the color to completely dry before going onto step 9.
9. Using a Pointed Round, apply 1 coat of SC-30 Blue Dawn over the Cobblestone areas. Apply a second coat of the SC-30 Blue Dawn and while the color is still wet, tip the brush with some SC-72 Grape Jelly and shade one portion of the outer edge of each petal.
10. To the centers of the flower, apply 1-2 coats of SC-24 Dandelion over the Cobblestone using the Pointed Round. Shade the center with SC-88 Tu Tu Tango.
11. Using a brush sized for the area, loaded with EL-125 Sahara Sands, apply 2-3 coats of glaze to the background areas on the frame front. Try not to get any color on the lettering, flower petals or stems if possible. Allow to dry.
12. Stilt and fire the piece to shelf cone 05/06.
