Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Place some S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing into a small cup and add a little bit of water to slightly dilute it (about 3 parts glaze and 1 part water).  It should be the consistency of a coffee cream.  Pour this into the teapot and roll around to completely coat the interior of the teapot.  Drain out the excess glaze and keep the teapot inverted until it has lost its shine. Wipe off any glaze from the outside using a damp sponge. Allow to dry.
  3. With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, transfer on the ship pattern.
  4. Use SG-404 Blue Designer Liner on the waves; SG-406 Brown Designer Liner on the ship; SG-401 Black Designer Liner on the sails and SG-403 Red Designer Liner on the cross and flag.  Allow to dry.
  5. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, float SC-30 Blue Dawn in to the wave area. And SC-91 Seabreeze to the sky area.
  6. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing to the design area of the teapot.  Be careful not to smear the Designer Liner colors.
  7. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2-3 coats of EL-124 Stormy Blue to the remaining teapot. Allow to dry.
  8. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 05. By firing to this cone temperature creates a more silver blue glaze.
