Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Place some S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing into a small cup and add a little bit of water to slightly dilute it (about 3 parts glaze and 1 part water).  It should be the consistency of a coffee cream.  Pour this into the teapot and roll around to completely coat the interior of the teapot.  Drain out the excess glaze and keep the teapot inverted until it has lost its shine. Wipe off any glaze from the outside using a damp sponge. Allow to dry.
  3. With a pencil, Sketch a border on the rim of the lid and the bottom of the teapot about ¾” wide.
  4. With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, Trace on the design or sketch your own.
  5. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-24 Dandelion to the orange flowers. Apply a second coat of SC-24 Dandelion that is side loaded with SC-75 Orange-A-Peel to create a two-tone flower.
  6. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-78 Lime Light to the blue flowers. Apply a second coat of SC-78 Lime Light that is side loaded with SC-76 Cara-bein Blue to create a two-tone flower.
  7. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-27 Sour Apple to the leaves. Apply a second coat of SC-27 Sour Apple that is side loaded with SC-26 Green Thumb to create a two-tone leaf.
  8. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner and a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of SC-78 Lime Light to the knob, rim on lid and rim on the bottom. The rim is about 3/4" from the bottom of the lid and the bottom of the teapot.
  9. Using a #12 Shader brush or a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply stipes of SC-11 Blue Yonder over the SC-78 Lime Light and shade at the bottom of the knob.
  10. With SG-403 Red Designer Liner, add swirls to the orange flowers. With SG-404 Blue Designer Liner, add swirls to the blue flowers.
  11. With SG-405 Green Designer Linier, outline the leaves, add stems to the flowers and some grass area below the leaves. Also add some SG-401 Black Designer Liner to the grass area. Allow to dry.
  12. With the end of a brush handle put dots of SC-15 Tuxedo on the lid and spout of the teapot. Allow to dry.
  13. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing to the outside of the teapot.
  14. Option:  This piece can be dipped in clear glaze instead of applying brushing glaze.
  15. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 05/06.
