Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
    SB-104 Rimmed Salad Plate:
  2. Pour a small amount of SW-305 Cobalt Wash onto a pallet. Take the doily and lay it in the SW-305 Cobalt Wash to saturate. Remove excess glaze from the doily by pulling it between your fingers. Stretch out the doily so it is flat and lay it over the surface of SB-104 Rimmed Salad Plate. Lay a paper towel over the doily and press down with a dry BT-910 Synthetic Sponge to be sure the doily pattern is transferred onto SB-104 Rimmed Salad Plate. Remove the paper towel and doily and allow to dry.
  3. Center SB-104 Rimmed Salad Plate on the banding wheel. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of SW-305 Cobalt Wash to the rim of SB-104 Rimmed Salad Plate.
  4. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of SW-255 Gray Opal to the front and back of SB-104 Rimmed Salad Plate, trying not to disturb the doily design or SW-305 Cobalt Wash painted rim. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats. Allow glaze to dry completely between coats.
