Instructions

  1. Begin with a properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. On a palette, with a palette knife, thicken UG-50 Jet Black with AC-310 Silkscreen Medium to the consistency of peanut butter.
  3. Hold the fern leaf from DSS-0111 Botanical Leaves with the grain side up on the bisque. Rub over the screen with the thickened Jet Black, remove and gently clean.
  4. Using CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SW-305 Cobalt Wash to the rims of the plates and bowl. Also brush the Cobalt Wash over the ribbed sections of the mug and the detail in the handle. With a damp sponge, remove the Cobalt Wash from the ribbed area and handle so it stays in the crevices.
  5. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, brush 3 coats of SC-91 Seabreeze to the inside of the bowl and mug, over the ribbed area of the mug and the outside section of the handle. Also brush 3 coats on the ribbed trim on the plates. Use a banding wheel to make it easy.
  6. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, brush 3 coats of SW-137 Storm Gray over the backs and fronts of the plates, touching the color that butts up to it. Brush in random direction as the direction of the brush strokes will show after firing.
  7. Using CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, brush 3 coats of SW-137 Storm Gray on the back of the bowl and the inset of the mug and the underside of the handle. Brush in random directions as above.
  8. Clean the bottoms of all piece free of glaze and fire to cone 6.
