Instructions


  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Place some S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing Clear into a small cup and add a little bit of water to slightly dilute it. It should be the consistency of a coffee cream. Pour this into the canister and roll around to completely coat the interior of the canister. Drain out the excess glaze and keep canister inverted until it has lost its shine. Wipe off any glaze from the outside using a damp sponge. Allow to dry.
  3. Using a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace pattern onto the tile.
  4. Cut out the owl to use as a stencil making sure to cut out the top of the head. Lay the stencil over the owl making sure the top of the head is exposed and stamp the top of the head.
  5. Using the AC-213 Sponge on a Stick load the sponge with SC-15 Tuxedo. Tap the SC-15 Tuxedo onto the ST-125 Wave Stamp then press the stamp gently onto the piece. Allow to dry.
  6. Outline the owl and the body parts with SA-002 Black Accent.
  7. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, and a CB-106 #6 Script Liner to get in the small spots, apply 2 messy coats of EL-127 Rose Granite to the background of the canister and the lid making sure to stay off the owl.
  8. Using a BT-903 Palette Knife, stir the S-2727 Poppy Fields, mix well to evenly distribute the crystals through the glaze.
  9. Apply 1 heavy coat of S-2727 Poppy Fields to the belly of the owl making sure to use lots of crystals.
  10. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-73 Candy Apple Red to the wings and top of head over the stamped area.
  11. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of FN-221 Milk Glass to the eye area.
  12. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-23 Jack O'Lantern over the S-2727 Poppy Fields area.
  13. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, float some SC-73 Candy Apple Red to shade around the eyes and SC-23 Jack O'Lantern on the ears.
  14. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, detail the owl with SC-15 Tuxedo.
  15. Stilt and fire to shelf cone05/ 06.
